Teams of 2 play each other using best ball for 18 holes, lowest score wins. Ties will result in a playoff hole, where best combined team score wins and a 1 stroke differential will be applied. Teams play for 10 weeks: Week 1 Intro (learn rules, the course, meet your competitors), followed by 8 weeks of regular season games (1 per week, week gets pushed back in the event of weather), with Week 10 being a playoff round if you qualify. Season long scores are based on wins and point differential against your opponent leading to a bracket style, single elimination tournament. Substitute players/teams are allowed for all games EXCEPT for playoffs, where you must play with your assigned teammate.
Standard Par Bar mini-golf rules apply with a few changes for League Night. Standard rules are on the back side of the score card.
Teams will be randomly assigned to a division in which they will play the entire season. Play consists of utilizing best ball. To clarify: Best ball involves 2-person teams where each player on the team plays his or her own golf ball throughout the round. After each hole the player with the lowest score on the hole (or “best ball”) out of the 2-person team serves as the team's score.
Roshambo will be played to determine which team goes first on hole 1. Holes thereafter will be determined by which team won the previous hole (not collective score). A tie is awarded to the team that won the previous hole.
One member of each team will putt first, followed by the two remaining players of each team. If the first player on a team scores a hole in 1, the second player will not putt and the team will keep the score of 1. After the initial putt, the player with a ball closest to the hole will go first. In the event that there is another ball obstructing their ability to strike the closest ball to the hole, the player may move their ball one club head away so long as that direction is not closer to the hole. There is NO ball marking. There is NO moving obstacles. In the event that moving the ball one club head away results in a more advantageous position, regardless of the direction of the hole, the referee will make a judgement call at their sole discretion and replace the ball.
In the event of a tie score after 18 holes, all 4 players will go back to hole #7 and replay the hole in the same manner they did previously, with another roshambo deciding which team goes first. This hole will be a COMBINED score of both teammates, not best ball, no max strokes. Lowest combined team score wins.
Scorecards are to be filled out with both teams and ONLY team names (no personal), the best score for the hole, and total scores at the end. If your team won in a playoff, you will circle your team name and write “won in playoff” at the bottom. Please ensure scorecards are legible and cleanly written. Incomplete or illegible scorecards will incur a +10 stroke penalty.
Tee times are randomized each week from 7-9pm with tee times every 5 minutes. There is a 5 minute grace period for teams to arrive, unless otherwise communicated and approved by management. If a team does not arrive for their game, they will take a loss and +10 strokes for that game. Your team will then play the course against par (40) for your score, which will be credited as the differential.
Playoffs: Rankings will be set based on overall performance across all divisions. Depending on number of teams participating, a portion will be guaranteed playoff entry while others must compete in a win-or-go-home play in round. Play in round will be 9 holes, with winner of roshambo deciding front or back 9 starting AT 6PM SHARP. Remainder of playoff rounds will start at 630pm and be 18 holes with a shotgun start until no longer necessary. Playoffs are single elimination with the exception of the 3rd/4th place game.
Top 3 teams win prizes and the winning team will be forever enshrined with an engraved trophy on our champions shelf!
